And the Sheraton Hua Hin is perfect for that. It is a grand hotel on the beach, with the biggest, best pool we've seen. Our rooms open directly onto it and we've spent hours slipping in and out, playing water polo, floating around, exploring.
The restaurants are great and the breakfast buffet is a heroic challenge that we have risen to daily. We were spoilt at the signature restaurant on my birthday and a delicious chocolate birthday cake appeared in our room while we dined.
It has been a delight to see two Indian weddings while here, full of colour and celebration. As a bonus, the wedding guests move as a pack, leaving most of the resort just to us!
Each evening we've assembled in the club lounge for apperitivo, debrief and planning.
There's a lot to like. And for some, I guess, it would be enough. But not me, I've learnt. I need to get out of the cocoon to see and do things. I love coming back to the cool, the pool, the lux, but it is, for me, to recharge and sally forth. Necessary, but not sufficient! Bring on mad, bad Bangkok!
That said, here are some more photos of this lovely resort!
